Energy Audits

Energy Audit is conducted in a two-stage process namely Preliminary energy Audit and Detailed Energy Audit/Investment Grade Audit

The objective of this Preliminary Energy Audit, sometimes referred to as a “Walk through Audit”, is primarily to assess the viability of implementing an energy efficiency upgrade of the facility using energy contracting prior to investing extensive resources in carrying out a Detailed Energy Audit/Investment Grade Audit

This objective will be achieved by:

  • Identifying suitable specific energy consumption indicator for existing and target energy use to quantify the potential for energy savings. This will also help to assess the impact of the energy conservation measures in achieving this potential and provide a feed back to the management.
  • Identifying energy saving measures, including savings and implementation budget, and payback to create a financially viable project suitable for implementation. Where appropriate, savings such as water or maintenance will also be assessed.
  • Identifying other benefits, including renewal of plant/equipment which has reached end of life or resolution of comfort issues. These are to be evaluated/quantified with a detailed feasibility report later.
  • Identifying additional metering and recording requirements, including any environmental conditions.
  • Identify any potential technical, financial or other risks to the project as currently defined.
